Capricorn Season and New Year Intentions

Capricorn season kicks off from December 22nd through January 20th! As you get ready for the new year, you probably want to know what that means for your life moving forward.

This sign is ruled by the planet Saturn and is the planet of limitations, boundaries, rules, organization, and responsibility. Think of it as the sign that pushes you to step up to the next level. Saturn is also known as the planet of commitment, so if something needs doing, get on it! This energy will carry over even if you don't have a lot of Capricorn in your chart, and you can still capitalize on its goal-oriented, coolheaded, and game plans qualities.

This is the perfect sign to round out the year with and set our intentions for the coming year.

Celebrate the Winter Solstice by hosting a fire ceremony to release anything you want to let go of to step freshly into 2023

The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year and a time when many people celebrate by burning things. You can host a fire ceremony to release anything you want to let go of, in order to step freshly into 2023. To do so, gather some items that hold significance or meaning for you. Once everything is set up, take time before lighting whatever it was that inspired this ritual: sit quietly with yourself first; ask yourself what it is about those particular things that makes them valuable enough for you to want them gone, as you release them into the fire (make sure its safe to do so first!) give thanks to the lessons, moments etc that they reflect and brought you.

Use the new moon on Dec. 23 to set your intentions and goals for the coming year.

This is the time for fresh starts and new beginnings. The Capricorn new moon makes it a good time to reflect on how you've been doing in different areas of your life. If you're not happy with your progress so far, use this opportunity to set some concrete goals for yourself going forward.

The New Moon on December 23rd is a time to get organized and it presents an opportunity to set an ambitious goal for ourselves. Think about what you want to accomplish this season and write down your goal on paper and then put it somewhere where you'll see it often so that it's top-of-mind. When the full moon in Cap hits on July 3, 2023, whatever seeds you plant on the Dec. 23rd New Moon could be taking flight.

Mercury will go retrograde  from Dec. 29 to Jan. 18, perfect for tying up loose ends and having a productive three weeks wrapping up old business.

The coming year has a lot in store for you. Are you ready?
